Primary VHF Repeater To Be Relocated
EGARA's main VHF repeater on 147.270 is being relocated to a new site at the former WTEN analog transmitter building on the Helderberg Mountains. Work on the project has begun with hopes of getting the repeater back on the air in the next few weeks. Nexstar Media Group, which owns the station, has entered into an agreement with the club to allow use of the site in return for helping to clean and maintain the building.
The VHF machine was taken off the air in late October following Spectrum's sale of the tower in Loudonville, NY, where it was located.
In the meantime, club traffic has been moved to its UHF repeater on 444.700, PL 94.8. This repeater is located on the Helderberg Mountains and offers excellent coverage. VHF traffic has been moved to 145.110, PL 94.8.
